There is a first time for everything........

Hello everyone! This definitely is not the FIRST time I have been late with my weekly post. Maybe I should just do this every Monday night instead of having high hopes for Sunday nights...So...where does our week begin? Last week was a great week. FIRST time in a while that Chris was home all week. Gavin and I really enjoyed that. The FIRST big thing we did was on Thursday night. Chris and I enjoyed our friends at Trivia Night at Gators. Our team name is "The longer this goes, the harder it gets!" Yes folks, that is factual about our Trivia Night. The questions get harder and harder. Anyway, this was the FIRST time that Chris went with me and he really enjoyed it as much as I did. Let's throw in some photos:

Friday night was Papa Joe's and Gavin went to school for Parent's Night Out. Gavin really was happy because he really misses his friend Emma. Emma and Gavin have been together since day 1 at daycare (at 11 weeks old) and Emma just got moved up. They got to play and have dinner together. It was like a FIRST date :) After dinner, Chris and I and some friends went to the movies. That was the FIRST time in a long time we have gone to the movies.
Saturday we went over to Sea World for a while in the morning. We took Gavin over to see the seals for the FIRST time and when I told him they were seals he corrected me and told me they were SEA LIONS. Have I mentioned that he is growing up way too fast? We also saw the Seymour and Clyde show which Gavin really liked because it was a pirate type show. Really really cute. Here are our photos:

Also, while we were at Sea World we let Gavin, for the FIRST time, enjoy a snack out of his stroller and in an adult size chair. He thought just loved it:

Off to O'Boys we went after that for the UK Wildcats Chili Cook off. Chris entered his FIRST chili cook off. He did not win but he enjoyed doing it and certainly enjoyed sampling all of the chili's that there were to offer. Here are a few photos from the event:

Later that night I went for a run. I am training for 3 5K's that are upcoming. I started running about 1 week and a half ago and I am down from a 14:56 mile to a 9:42 minute mile. When i returned from running Gavin was very interested in my ipod. I let him listen for himself for the FIRST time:

Sunday was our relaxing day. Chores, grocery shopping and packing for Chris. Of course, I was cooking for the Superbowl party we were going to. The party was hosted by Andrew, who is the son of some very good friends of ours. He just bought his FIRST home and wanted to invite everyone over to see it and enjoy the game. His house is super nice and we all had a great time. Gavin was so incredibly good!!!!! Here are a few photos from the event:

Congrats to the Saints too for their FIRST Superbowl win.
That is about it for the week. What is going on with Gavin this week? Well he is just repeating every single thing we say. It is just amazing. We caught him in the back of the car singing the whole entire Dora the Explorer song. Here he is belting out a tune:

I had 2 teachers from Gavin's school stop me in the hall on Friday and tell me how incredible they heard he was doing. All of the kids in his room know the alphabet but pretty much have memorized the song but only recognize A-D randomly. Gavin recognized the ENTIRE ALPHABET and can tell you randomly what every single letter is. He regularly shouts out letters that he sees just about every where. He make us so proud! We are getting geared up for his Valentine's Day party at school and I will be making mini heart cupcakes out of red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and i will be making pink, red and white heart chocolate lollipops to go with the Valentine's Day cards for his friends. Hopefully they will come out ok. Also, another FIRST is that Gavin started playing games online on SesameStreet.org . He has been doing very well but likes to smash the keyboard a bit:

As far and Chris and I this week. Well Chris is in Indianapolis for a few days. Hopefully the weather won't bite him too bad. He will be back Wednesday. He is doing fabulous on the guitar and Gavin and I love listening to him. I did put Chris to work this week and here is our final photo wall:

The play room is coming along as well:

This week on Thursday my dad will be here and it will be nice to hang out with him. In a few weeks my mom will be here. Also, this summer we are looking forward to a road trip to PA and spending a week with Chris's sister and her family. We are going to do all kinds of fun stuff with the kids and also take the train to Boston and sit front row for a Red Sox game compliments of First American Title. I love my jobs sometimes!
Anyway....everyone have a great week.
