Mother's Day Weekend......

Isn't that the nicest and the most factual quote ever? I love it and of course it is in the spirit of today, my favorite day of the whole year....Mother's Day. While it was a GREAT day...it makes me sad that Chris and I don't get to spend with our mothers...but hopefully they know that we are thinking of them.

Well this week started out with a trip out of the neighborhood to work and this is what I saw in front of one of my neighbors houses:

The sign said "Congratulations, you have been Flocked". I guess it is a fundraiser or something but HOW CUTE, huh? Cute yes, but I hope I never get "Flocked"!

Anyway...Tuesday we picked Josh up from school with Gavin as a favor. He came over for dinner and the two of them had a ball. They do act like brothers and fight over toys but they love to play together!

One of the things Gavin really was enjoying this week was sitting at the counter and coloring and playing with stickers. This started with his Easter package that came from grandma and pop pop Lollis. Here are a few shots I took:

That was the extent of our Monday through Thursday...work, school and move on to the next day. Moving on to Friday...... I got to leave work early for the Mother's Day Party at Gavin's school . Gavin kept telling Chris...."no dads allowed". Anyway we were invited to the party and we all received flowers and crafts that our children made and we also made bird houses together:

What a great time we had! Friday night after that was Parent's Night Out. Chris and I went to dinner with Joe and Judy and had a ball but as usual missed our little guy. Saturday morning I had errands to run and Chris and Gavin did too.....We all went our separate ways and met up later for the annual Kentucky Derby Party at Toms house. Here are a few shots:

Of course you can count on Gavin to pull out his trains any place we go.

The first problem we had though was that Gavin dropped on in the pool. Here are photos of the search and rescue operation to find "Harold":

This photo was taken by none other than GAVIN...he likes mommy's floppy had that I wore. This was for the Derby Party...is now my beach and will be my cruise hat:

So....on Mother's Day we were going to go to St. Augustine, however, changed our plans on the day of. We went to Wekiva Falls Resort. It is a big camp ground with a big huge swimming area around the springs and canoeing. This place is awesome. We will be going camping there for sure and next time we will be better equipt to even go for the day:

About an hour in to our day we decided to go canoeing:

Gavin did great but we did not go far. It was our first time in the water with him and let's face it....these waters do have gators in them.....we stuck to the canal there at the resort and kind of just paddled around in circles and saw turtles and fish (no gators in the canal). Then went home and relaxed with wild little Gavin. Let me show you an example:

Wonder what these pictures are? They are of Gavin cleaning the dog after he colored on him with SHARPIEs......yes..that is just the tip of the iceburg with this little wild fellow this weekend. Trust me!

Anyway...it was a great week in our house and here is what I received from Gavin for Mother's Day:

He picked them out himself....and this is Gavin saying CHEERS after our Mother's Day dinner. Notice...we have wine and Gavin is raising his sippy cup!

Good times ...good times.....so what is in store this week? Gavin will no longer be taking classes at My Gym. We start karate on Tuesday and next week he starts his 8 swim lessons (they are M-Thursday for 2 weeks) . We can hardly wait! Everyone have a great week!
