the sun is BAAACkkkkk....

Happy Sunday Night All! Yet another great week in our house! Chris was busy working and I definitely got my behind kicked with the month end at work. One thing that was nice was the the SUN came out this weekend. PERFECT WEATHER...here is Chase to show it off:

Sheesh...I don't ever think that the grass has had that little green in it in all my years in Florida. Anyway...here is my quote of the week:

Why? Made me think of the development of this blog. Now it is a habit and it is a part of my every Sunday night...for the most part.

Christmas cactus update you say? SURE!!!!!

I am not believing how beautiful the flower is on this. Gavin loves it too. He keeps saying "mommy's pink flower?".

Before I talk about this week, I want to add a photo I left out from last week of Gavin playing t-ball with Chris. It is clear that this was last week because of the jacket.

So part of what we get at Gavin's school is homework. At first I thought it was crazy but now Chris and I get to sit down with Gavin and we really get to see what he has learned and what he knows. Way more than we ever imagined. This week he brought home a paper that had the dotted lines that spelled out his name for him to trace and the letter 10 for him to trace. I thought I was going to have to put my hand over his to help but this is what I got instead:

There was NO HELP here. He did this all by himself. Unbelievable!

This week was filled with our first basketball practice. NOPE...we are not doing this again. Gavin cried the whole time. He did not want to do it. Eye opener for Chris and I . We are not going to have him do it. We are ready for him to be little a bit longer. Back to My Gym for open play on Monday and his class on Wednesday.

At home our week looked like this.........

Lots and lots of puzzles....

He has 3 puzzles that are 24 pieces. He can do every single one of them by himself.

If we don't pay attention for 5 minutes you might see this:

Yes, that is Gavin climbing on the pool table, pulling the balls out of the pockets and playing a game of his own.

Of course, there is always the trains, trains and more trains:

and....he might empty out a closet if we don't keep our eyes peeled too:

On Saturday while Chris was working and I was cleaning house, this we built for Gavin to play in:

We did very little of this (we have cut out this kinda stuff M-F and will only be doing this stuff on the weekends):

But we did play a bunch of CandyLand and read a whole lot of books. Gavin got a few new books this week from his school book fair. He has not put these down. I love that he loves books.
Oh....as I looked out in to our back yard I saw this today:

This is the thing. Before the fence, Chris never let me take oranges because the tree is not in our yard and therefore it is not ours. I am just wondering since it HANGS OVER my fence if anyone thinks these should be mine?
Today Gavin went to a birthday party and then we came home and took a bike ride:

We have not done this in a long long time and decided to stay on our street instead of conquering the trail. Gavin said it was "so much fun". I see a lot of these rides in our immediate future. The weather and the exercise was awesome.
Hopefully the winter blues are over with and we have some excitement in the near future. I have to admit all this down time has been fabulous and I feel very accomplished around the house.
So what do I see this next week looking like? Well month end at work tomorrow (good and a bad thing) , My Gym for Gavin on Monday and Wednesday, Magic vs. Heat game on Thursday as a date night for myself and Chris, Parents Night Out on Friday (Chris is working and I have a birthday party to go to at an exercise studio) and maybe a trip to Disney (for the last time...the passes expire) and then maybe a bike ride at Disney next Sunday when Chris is off work.
Everyone have a great week!
