Pardon the Interruption

Ever wake up and have a day that you are just amazed by life? For example, where has the time gone? I was shaking my head all day long. I can't believe how long I have worked at First American (16 1/2 years), how long Chris and I have been married (12 years), how long we have been in this house (5 years) and that Gavin is 19 months! On the down side, I was shaking my head with Chris on the Eagles loss and Gavin was just miserable this afternoon with those darn molars. On the up side, we are watching the Philles take another game of this series, Gavin had a fabulous rest of the weekend and was extremely funny tonight and MOST IMPORTANTLY we are all happy and healthy and loved! Sometimes I just wish we had a camera in our house to get it all on tape. Since that is not possible I will just do the best I can to just keep on typing and sending photos and videos out each week.

This week was a little busier than most. We joined the Y this week and had to go do our consults and learn the equipment. Sounds easy enough but it was a challenge. Other than that the only really interesting thing was on Thursday it was Chase's (our dog) birthday. We decided to try to have a little party with hats for him with Gavin but it did not pan out so well. I will turn this over to Chase to tell you all about it....

Hey everyone...Chase here. So these crazy people I live with gave me a birthday hat. HATED IT. Geez...why can't the just give me the bone? Why do I have to be tortured? Finally they gave me the bone...see...

Then if it is not bad enough that they put the hat on me, they start torturing the kid...see....

Of course, I could not be bothered so I just jumped up on the couch and am being as good as I can be and the crazy lady and the kid hop up for a photo. The kid was just sitting there chewing the hat...see.....

Then the mommy lady said that it was time for a shot with the daddy guy and the kid so we had to change postions and move forward with the torture......it is not like the kid is at all interested in this "party".....see...

They could not just let go of this birthday thing...see....

That is all I have to say. I am turning this back over to that lady that the kid calls mommy..have a good night. Chase....

ANYWAY.....The photos look good but we deleted about 450 to get those few. It was a cute idea but a bad one. Chase probably would have been happier with just the bone. Also, on Thursday night Amber came over and watched Gavin after bed time and Chris and I went and met some friends, old and new for trivia night. It was so much fun and we really enjoyed seeing everyone. here are a few shots:

So Friday night was interesting. We went to Papa Joe's late because of the Phillies game. Sounds like no big deal but Gavin melts down and is ready for bed by 8 and we did not get there until almost 8 AND they were busy AND our pizza did not come out until 9 or so. Bad news is that for about an hour, Chris and I tag teamed and struggled with Gavin and his displeasure but we finally got him to sleep, brought the stroller in and put Gavin down. We enjoyed a FABULOUS dinner, I enjoyed a glass of wine and we ended up hanging out with everyone until after 10 having great conversation, busting each others chops and laughing a lot. We just have the best time on Friday nights and have a hard time any time we have to miss out.

I am going to interrupt now and tell everyone that Gavin is going to be a pirate for Halloween. I am so excited about this costume and hope he cooperates! I am going to also interrupt my interruption here and say that Gavin is IMPOSSIBLE to get a photo of these days SO every picture we have on here there were 10 that we had to delete. This kid moves FAST!

Here are some rejects from the week just so you can see.....

Next week I will have some better ones as the rejects usually don't stay on my camera and certainly don't make it to the computer very often.

So Saturday morning was hectic as usual. I went and finished my orientation at the Y and Chris started Gavin on his day 1 of round 2 of swim lessons. YEP..it was an outdoor pool and YEP...it was like 58 degrees. Good thing the pool was heated. They seems to still enjoy it. We went home for lunch and nap time and off to Sea World we went for the Spooktacular celebration. Most kids were dressed up but we don't have our costume yet. We have ordered it but it has not come in. The best part of Sea World this time I think was this maze that they had for Halloween. All of the Sesame Street characters were painted on the interior walls and Gavin just went nuts. He was not the least bit interested in the trick or treating. He had his own bag but did not want anything to do with it. All he wanted to do is say THANK YOU (or in his words GA GOO) for the candy. WELL at least I have a polite child! Anyway, we stayed through the Shamu show and off we went. It was a long day. Here are some photos:

This brings us to today...Sunday.....catch up day...chores, grocery shopping and bam! the day and weekend is over. Football and a fussy Gavin made for a long day...but by the evening I felt very accomplished and Gavin was much better.....so let's hope the week goes as well. Have a good one everyone and GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We leave you with another video of our very smart boy:
