a really long blog post….

Yes, finally I will do this without being in a rush. It is good for me to sit down and relax and do this anyway. Not sure where to start so I will start with a quote since I have not done that in a while:

blessed...

I just love this one. So let’s start from the top. As everyone knows I am very proud of my new room upstairs. The only finishing touch I need is perhaps a rug in the future but I have a light that needs to be hung. These are the times I need my dad or brother in law who are both talented electricians. Oh well, it will get done. In the meantime here are some little touches of things I have done in that room and at the house that I consider crafty:

These are wine carafes that I have dried beans and peas in for decoration. I think it looks so nice on the kitchen counter. Secondly , we have my pictures on the refrigerator that are now framed. I love this:

Upstairs in my new room I have this old ruler (it is broken actually) that is being used for a photo holder. I loved this idea when I saw it:

Now if you look at the next two pictures what I am trying to show is the white stands. These are tart pans that I have pained white and use for storage. They are being held up by wood candle sticks that are also painted white to create a pedestal look:

as you can see one is being used to hold my pin cushions and the other to prop up an old clock.

So this is my latest and greatest. Stay tuned for more. So what have we been up to? Well…..last Tuesday we went to the movies and saw “Tin Tin". One hour and 45 minutes later we were out of there and it was a great flick for sure:

On Thursday, we did our once a month trip to “Bounce” with Gavin and his friends. Here they are pictured after a night of bouncing in he bounce houses and having pizza. They always have so much fun:

and this is a little pot with sunflowers that we are growing. Can’t wait to see how big they get. Stay tuned:

So on to the weekend. This was filled with lots of fun. We went to Papa Joe’s on Friday night and then Chris and Gavin were off to Universal on Saturday. While they were away, this is what I did:

Not so much fun, however, this is what they were doing:

and when they got home…this little guy was tired:

So Sunday we went to church followed by Gavin having his friend Makayla over:

That afternoon, we went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and Shelby and her friend from college came over to hang out with us:

We just hung out and they spent the night. Monday I was off of work and Chris headed to Miami. After taking Shelby home Gavin and I were off to the circus. Oh my goodness. It was the Greatest Show on Earth for sure:

It was so much fun and we will do that again! Worth ever single penny.

So what is in store for us this week? Well just a regular week. This weekend we have a birthday party …well we have 2 birthday parties and the Magic game. Other than that Gavin is telling us that he wants to play “hockey”. We are going to enroll him in ice skating lessons in March and see if he does well. If he does, we will put him in hockey when he is 5. I think this is a good time to see what he can do. We are still enjoying karate and Gavin has done very well. We are so proud of him on karate day. Speaking of proud. Gavin read his first book…front to back this week. It is called “I Went Walking”. Very cute book. I am sure most of it is that he has memorized it but that does not take away how proud he was about doing it.

Everyone have a great week. This is the week that my mom has moved home. I am so happy for her and proud. She is really going to enjoy retirement surrounded by friends and most important FAMILY.

Here is a photo I took of Gavin yesterday:

Have a great week!
